Fisher's music can best be described as soundtracks that fit those strange dreams people have right before waking back up into the real world.
His sound lab is based in Toronto where he composes music for film, television and theatre.
He is a trained pianist and bassist and has a knack for experimenting on any kind of instrument.
He also works with a well-rounded group of musician friends that help to customize his sound.
Fisher has released five albums independently, all of which can be previewed and purchased online.
He has composed for the likes of Discovery Channel, The Canadian Stage Co., and Rue Morgue Cinema.
Over the years he has toured internationally with theatrical groups as both sound technician and Foley artist and has played in many bands.
His current live project is a circus electro duo known as Squid Lid (squidlid.com).

~ FULL BIO ~

James Fisher is a trained illustrator who has worked his macabre vision professionally for over a decade. He is the creator/artist of RUE MORGUE MAGAZINE's popular DISFIGURES OF SPEECH comic since 2003.
In 2001, James created ZIRCO RESHIFE as a live performance outlet that merged his visual talents with his skills as a musical composer.
He has performed as the opening act for BLONDIE and CHRIS ANGEL, as well as Discovery television's act CIRCUS ORANGE.
In 2003, James launched his first graphic novelette entitled THE TABOO FLOO to the delight of many grown up children and young adults alike.
He followed up with a large body of theme-specific artwork entitled PHARMACIA MONSTROSITY, along with internationally acclaimed clown duo MUMP + SMOOT's graphic novel CAGED.
In 2004 James teamed up with RUE MORGUE founder Rodrigo Gudiņo to create the live art-house theatrical piece NIGHTMARE PICTURE THEATRE in which he re-scored and performed the music to the short film collection of the BROTHERS QUAY.
The production granted James an audience with CLIVE BARKER, which lead him to compose the soundtrack adaptation to Barker's novel ABARAT.
In 2008 Fisher was approached to compose the soundtrack for the Canadian Stage Company's theatrical adaptation of STEPHEN KING'S MISERY.
James has released two other albums under his independent ZIRCO CIRCUS label.
Fisher is currently composing the soundtrack to Robanzo Films' feature horror film KENNEYVILLE and playing live Circus Beats with the black-light mask spectacle SQUID LID.
Fisher has also created an on-line monthly contest called CREATURE CAPTIONS CONTEST featuring the twisted sensibilities of his dark drawings.
